ALICE LOUISE SCHULTZ
Born: May 09, 1915
Date of Passing: Aug 26, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE LOUISE SCHULTZ May 9, 1915 - August 26, 2013 On a beautiful summer day on Saturday, August 31, Alice (Mom/Nana) was laid to rest in the Camper Cemetery followed by a family gathering to celebrate her life at the Legion Hall in Lundar. It is with gratitude we wish to thank everyone who made our farewell to Mom (Nana) so special. To John and Jody of Arnason Funeral Home for their compassionate care with the arrangements, Pastor Bill Watson for the lovely graveside service, City of Winnipeg Police for the Honour Guard and Piper; Lundar Legion for use of their hall and Isabel Troy for helping with the lunch. Also special thanks to Nana's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren for helping set up the picture boards and photo albums and to everyone for sharing their memories of Nana. In 1992 after Dad passed away, we encouraged Mom moved to Lundar so she would be living closer to family. Mom lived with her grandson Mark for a while before moving to a suite in the Senior's Apartment. Once again she was able to volunteer her time to various organizations and take part in so many activities in the area. Mom enjoyed living in Lundar and made many friends there. When it became necessary for Mom to have extra medical care, she was fortunate to have a room in the Lundar Personal Care Home. While there, we were always welcome to use the Centennial Room for our family gatherings with Nana. Mom's family will be forever grateful for the loving care she received from the Lundar Personal Care Home staff, Dr. Neil Burnet and from the Home Care workers while at her apartment. The visits, the hugs, phone calls and emails, cards, flowers, food and the donations made to charities in memory of Mom, are all so comforting to us at this sad time. We wish to extend many thanks to everyone for these expressions of sympathy and acts of kindness. Alice's Family.

My sincere condolences to all of you, Alice's family. I only learned today of her passing & thought "There goes another vital link in the history of the Interlake!" We always had good chats when I stopped into the care home and when she heard that I now lived in Stonewall she would ask me to check out the housing prospects here for her - she thought it would be a good possible home for her! She was so interesting to visit with and lived such a variety of lifestyles.....careers long before her time! - a true visionary! You are so blessed to have known her as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. - Posted by: Marliene Lutz (Acquaintance) on: Sep 09, 2013
