BARRIE KOLB April 9, 1945 August 31, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barrie on August 31, 2013 at Selkirk Hospital age 68 years. Barrie was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Roberta, and a brother Keith. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Lily, a son Andreas, his daughter Dara (Daryn) Brokke and one grandchild Haylee; and a special friend Mathew. Barrie loved his family, his business of autos and dealing, he was a great gardener, he at one time loved showing his champion dogs, St. Bernard's and Labs. Barrie loved to travel to the Philippines and spent his winters there with Lily and her family. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. on Thursday evening, September 5, 2013 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. A funeral service will be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Gerry Ward officiating. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens 4477 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. Wow I was just talking with barrie on the road last week. my condolences too the family. My Dad was always a strong man. He loved cutting wood and hunting deer. I have memories of doing both with him as a young child, making sandwiches and leaving the house at 5 am. Dad and I would go for evening coffee with his friends, have dinners with my grandparents at their home as my grandmother loved to cook. Dad loved going for walks down the road at night and looking at the stars, was proud of his great garden and his fantastic corn. He has lived a modest lifestyle and was a great animal lover. Dad was never an emotional person and everyone who was close to him knew he didn't have to say how much he cared, they just knew.
