COLIN ALEXANDER ELLIS November 1, 1936 - September 1, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colin Alexander Ellis on September 1, 2013, at the age of 76. Colin leaves his wife of 49 years, Marian, his children, Gary, Colin (Cheryl), and Susan (Alex), grandchildren Noah, Liam, Sarah, Emma, Terrin, Braden, Bailey, and Natalie, as well as sisters-in-law, Olwen, Glenys, and Gwyneth, his nephews Michael and Peter, and their families in England. He was predeceased by his father Alexander, mother Helen, sisters and brothers-in-law Josie and Joe, Peggy and John, and Violet and John, and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Betty). Colin was born and raised in Liverpool, England, where he met Marian. They were married on January 4, 1964. They immigrated to Winnipeg in the summer of 1965 where he began work immediately for C.N. Symington Yard and was there for 28 years before he retired. He loved to share his memories of family and friends and growing up in England. Dad was an avid soccer player, playing in England and Canada. His favourite team was Everton FC and he followed them all of his days. Colin spent many summers with his family and friends at Morden's Meadows. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #7 for 30 years. His greatest joy though was his wife, children and grandchildren. He was so proud of all of them. Our family wish to express our special thanks to all the staff at Park Manor who helped take care of him these last few months. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Park Manor Care Home in Colin's memory. In respect of Colin's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 8, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Park Manor Care Home, 301 Redonda Ave. "A Dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes, but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence". We love you Dad. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204-224-1525
