EMIL WESELOWSKI April 2, 1930 - August 31, 2013 Peacefully Emil Weselowski, devoted proud father, passed away at the age of 83 years. Emil is predeceased by his parents Anastasia and Alexander Weselowski, his loving wife Helen, brother Leonard (Jean), and brothers-in-law Stan Kuchynski and Victor Pasternak. He will be lovingly remembered by his four children Brian (Julie), Debbie (Ben), Valerie (Ross), Belinda (Shawn); his two sisters Vicki Pasternak and Elizabeth Weselowski; brother-in-law Florian Kuchynski, and many nieces and nephews. Emil leaves the world with the love of his nine grandchildren Tyler and Samantha Weselowski, Kylie, Taylor and Colin McLeod, Elizabeth and Natalie Hernandez, and Kiana and Maya Crorey. Dad was raised in Sifton, Manitoba. Married our wonderful mother and eventually resided in Transcona. He began his working life at Manitoba Cold Storage, then moved on, and Dad retired after over 30 years from Canada Packers. With mom and dad having strong religious beliefs, they found joy and meaning in belonging to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Dad was an avid member of the Brotherhood and served as Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus Bishop Budka Council. He was also involved in numerous other groups within the church community. Dad was known as a character by many, he enjoyed meeting new people, a good story and laugh. Dad proudly and generously shared treats with anyone who crossed his path. Dad enjoyed a "good" crib game and a hardy Ukrainian Polka. The warmest smiles were when Dad was surrounded by his family. Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day Street on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dad's name to the PRIME program at Deer Lodge Centre or a charity of your choice.
