GEORGE GREBELY It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my brother, George Grebely, on August 30, 2013. Words cannot express the happiness that George brought to all who met him. Nobody else could make so many people from all walks of life smile, laugh and feel genuinely accepted for who they were. George lived his life the way his heart guided him, life as a peaceful, simple, gracious and kind soul. All who had the pleasure of being a part of his life whether for a short time or a lifetime will know that to be absolutely true. Born in Flin Flon, MB on October 3, 1969, George always prided himself on being a 'child of the 60s'. Growing up in Cranberry Portage, MB, later graduating from the local high school, Frontier Collegiate Institute, George chose to remain in his hometown to continue his career and did so until his illness prevented him from continuing. Over those many years, countless friendships were maintained and added. There is no end to the great memories to share with all those who spent time with him. Although I ended up in 'the big smoke' here in Winnipeg where I remained to work and raise my family, our tight bond never waned. Left to mourn are family members, Ma and Pop - Val and Andy Grebely Sr; brother Andy (Bond) Grebely Jr and wife Nina (Sis) along with the nephew and niece - Bondika and Holly; family members in Hungary and Canada; all dear friends. Memorial service will be held in Cranberry Portage at the FCI gym, 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation. SDMF. Rest in peace my brother, we'll be together again. 204-782-3541

  • George and I grew up together in Cranberry, went to school together. Our parents were good friends. George was always able to put a smile on my face no matter how down I would get and he would always make me feel good about myself no matter how down I would get on myself. Even though we didn't see or talk much after I left our home town he was always a special person in my life. I will miss you George. You can rest now (if you want) or go have a drink with my Sis..you can have a few good laughs together up there. Catch up with you another day my friend.. xo - Posted by: Trana Nagy (life time friend :)) on: Sep 07, 2013
