Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • My dearest Aunty Kay has filled my heart for a lifetime with her kindness and generosity of spirit. Aunty Kay was the type of person who never taught or advised by words.....she lived her life by a beautiful example of how to treat other people - by accepting them as they were and cherishing their company. I too, feel I am a better person because of Aunty Kay. Rest in peace my dearest auntie; I hope you and my dad are sharing a few memories and a few chuckles in heaven....til we meet again. - Posted by: Betty Arnal (Niece) on: Sep 21, 2013

  • Mrs. Wenzel's smile and twinkle will be missed. As neighbours, I remember her always taking time to wave and give that beautiful smile of hers. - Posted by: Sandra Schmidt (Friend) on: Sep 20, 2013

  • Aunty Kay was a kind and generous soul that lit up a room with her smile and infectious laugh. Family and friends were very important to her with Christmas Eve celebrations being her specialty as a family gathering. The celebration was filled with traditional Italian food along with loads of laughs, singing (while dear uncle Joe played the accordion) and catching up with family. No one was ever left out as she proudly handed out a special gift, wrapped to perfection, to everyone. Her favourite color was turquoise and her favourite saying “I’ll smash you” was commonly used as a response to a joke or someone playing a trick on her. Aunty Kay always wished the best for everyone and never hesitated to make time for family and friends. She enjoyed baking desserts and nibbling on the crumbs making sure everyone got a little piece of her creation. Visiting her at The Bay and sharing lunch was very special to me. I will always remember her big smile as I approached the counter where she worked. I am better off knowing her and having her as part of my life. She will be sadly missed but I know she is in good hands with Nana and Grandpa and Uncle Joe and the many other family and friends that passed before her. As we all celebrate her life, I am sure she is enjoying a round of golf hoping for another hole in one! Love you and miss you Aunty Kay - Posted by: Gail Chevalier (Niece/Godchild) on: Sep 16, 2013

  • Kay used to drag Otto to our home across the street to watch six very excited children open up Christmas presents. They loved to see the sparkle in all of our eyes and shared in several years of wrappings, giggles and frivolity. As we all left home and returned often, so would Kay and Otto walk across the street to greet us and find out the latest news. We have enjoyed the apples, the tomatoes, the hugs and friendship over the last 50 plus years. We will miss you Kay ,may God's Angels wrap you in their arms and surround you with his love, and welcome you to Heaven.xoxoxox - Posted by: Patricia Brokke (Family friend and old neighbour) on: Sep 14, 2013
