Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCIS MICHAEL BRIAN WATTERS Peacefully on Friday, September 13, 2013, Brian Watters, aged 83 years passed away at the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB. His wife Kay predeceased Brian. Brian is survived by his children, Bradley (Bernie), Gregory (Penny), Cindy (Gordon) Cannell, Martin (Sharon), Candace (Darryl) Grenkow and Peter Eithier; 18 grandchildren and their families along with nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his grandson Stephen James Cannell and his two brothers, Kelly and Allan Watters. Brian and Kay were married on October 20, 1956 in Edmonton, AB. Dad and mom relocated to Winnipeg in 1961 where they raised their family. In 1993 they retired and moved out to the RM of Coldwell where they built their retirement home on the "big forty". The warm and generous people of the community embraced them. Being of strong faith, dad was very involved in the rural Catholic parishes. He had a great passion for the railway, baseball and jazz. Brian had a great love of his land. He found solace and serenity in the changes of the seasons and joy in what nature had to offer. Dad's faith and family were paramount all through his life. This enabled him to be a positive driving force. He was always full of strength and encouragement. His integrity and unwavering convictions were concrete. Dad was at peace with the Lord when his harvest was done. He is now with Kay, his angel in heaven. He was our rock and foundation and will be missed by so many. St. Olaf's Church will be open from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013 for family and friends to pay their respects. In keeping with dad's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Lundar Legion Hall on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 with Father Michel Nault officiating. Rosary will be led 20 minutes prior to the service. A private family interment will be held in the Notre Dame Cemetery with a lunch to follow at the Lundar Legion Hall. The family wishes to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the E. M. Crowe Memorial Hospital. Their exceptional kindness and compassion for dad and his family is truly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in dad's memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, 2020 10th Street NW, Calgary, AB T2M 3M2. So sorry to hear about your Dad's (and Mother's) passing but am happy for them now that they are together again. I wonder what it is like. Some day we'll find out. May the Lord bless each one of you and may you be comforted in knowing they are in a better place. I remember your Dad and Mom with fondness and smile when I think of them. They were always welcoming and neat parents to have in the neighbourhood. - Posted by: Garry Dyck (Friend) on: Sep 17, 2013

Our deepest condolences to the Watters family. I have many fond memories of gatherings around the Watters kitchen table with Mr. & Mrs. Watters. He was such a wonderful philosophic. I often think of him when I ponder "the meaning of life", which during those gatherings he challenged us to consider. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Heather & Darryl Fahlman (friend of Candace's) on: Sep 17, 2013

My sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. I look back on what he taught me both in work and in life and I am so thankful for the day that we met. He was a wonderful, giving man who shared with me and my children, his knowledge, his patience and his personal life. He had a great love for his family and his faith. May his children and their families find strength during this difficult time. - Posted by: Barbara Laferriere (My Boss and Friend) on: Sep 16, 2013
