LYLE (THE BULL) EDWARD STARDOM February 27, 1958 - September 18, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lyle (The Bull) Stardom after a brief illness on September 18, 2013, 10:10 a.m. at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 55 years. Lyle was predeceased by his grandparents Marion Stardom, Simon Ducharme and Dolly Ducharme. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved son Brett Stardom, parents Edward and Marjorie Stardom, his grandmother Nellie Stardom, brother Derek, sister Janice Stardom (Kevin Candline), nieces Jasmin and Season, brother Kenny (Laurie), nephew Camron, niece Nicole, as well as his extended family, Wayne Heckert, Debbie, James, Sonya and many aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends Doug Dubeck, Dale Walker, Ron Hirschfield, Gordon Matt and so many more. Lyle grew up and attended school in Transcona. He excelled at Hockey and football through his younger years. You could often (easily) encourage Bully to tell you stories of his favourite hockey years with the Transcona Railers. He never forgot a goal, an open ice hit or the odd on ice tussle to protect his teammates. His football skills took him to the final cuts of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers training camp. Lyle passed on his hockey skills as a volunteer coach for many years in the Transcona community and beyond. He was loved and respected by the players he helped develop over the years. Lyle's most proud achievement was watching his son Brett evolve into a strong hockey player with a "better shot than I ever had". Brett will now be wearing his dad's number 20 with the 2013/2014 Transcona Railers. The only thing that was bigger than The Bull's stature was the size of his heart. He touched everyone who knew him in a positive way with his quick wit and sense of humour. Without hesitation, Bully selflessly helped countless people that needed a hand up or just a good friend. He would always put other people's needs ahead of his own. The Bull was one of kind and we all mourn our loss. As he always said "who loves ya baby?" The legend lives on! A private family service will be held. Friends and family are invited to share memories in a Celebration of Life for Lyle at the Pandora Inn Hotel located at 103 Bond St., Transcona, MB R2C 1N6, Monday, Sepember 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund in Brett's name has been established. Donations can been made at the Casera Credit Unions. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 224-1525

Thank you so much I miss hearing you talk about old hockey stories and how you would always tell me if I tried my dipsey dangles on you that "I'd be in the cheap seats" haha I will always remember every story and every lesson you told and taught me. He always would take time to tell me what I was doing wrong, and gave me these words of wisdom "Leon you know if you fight someone that you're supposed to throw a punch" My prayers go out to Lyle's family, I know it would make Bull proud to see his son lace em up for the "Railers" - Posted by: Leon Belandiuk () on: Sep 27, 2013

  • Lyle was my son's best and favorite coach. He Knew his Hockey and took coaching seriously while still having a healthy relationship with his players. For this reason the kids respected him and wanted to work hard for him. Out of hockey he was a good friend to all. Many good times and many laughs. He was a legend in the community. He will be missed. Roger. - Posted by: Roger Desharnais (Sons coach and Friend) on: Sep 21, 2013

  • I was so sorry to hear of Lyle's passing. such a wonderful man! Whenever Wizard (Wayne) and Bull would get together, I loved hearing about their days playing Hockey together. I'm pretty sure the opposing team would shake in their skates when they saw the two of them on the ice. He was the best hugger, had the sweetest smile, and a wonderful sense of humor! I hope Wiz was their to meet him, and they are having a few brews, maybe playing some Hockey! Take care. Bull will be missed. - Posted by: Pat Trager (Friend) on: Sep 21, 2013
