Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Fond memories of our families getting together especially for the Santa Claus Parade every year and either going to "aunty" Irene and "uncle" Bill's for dinner or to our home. Patricia and I would play with our Barbies and Barry and "Glenny" would happily look on. Our families did many things together - the "school" for children with cerebral palsy at our home, they were founding members of The Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba, and they got together for many evenings of card playing, square dancing, crafting (the moms) and wood working (the dads). I still have a wooden truck that Bill made for my first son, Alastair and it will be enjoyed by my first grandchild who is due at the end of Nov. Irene and Bill were wonderful people and we are all blessed for having them in our lives. To Taryn and Courtney - Your grandparents were SO PROUD of you! They would constantly "brag" about you both! My deepest condolences to all of you. Barry will be saddened by the news... he frequently talks about "the good old days" Take care and keep the memories alive, Mary-Anne - Posted by: Mary-Anne Thomson (Boden) (Childhood friend) on: Sep 28, 2013

  • Remembering both Bill and Irene as wonderful neighbours. Sad to hear that they have passed on. Remembering the days when the boys would be shooting hoops and Bill would join in, showing them some of his "moves" from when he played basketball. My heartfelt condolences to Patricia and family in the loss of her dad, father-in-law and grandpa. - Posted by: C. Harper (Old Neighbour) on: Sep 24, 2013
