Date of Passing: Sep 28, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY YVONNE JORDAN Dorothy Yvonne Jordan was born in Winnipeg on March 23, 1918, one of four daughters of Harris Edward Shumway and Siri "Sarah" Boe. The "Sisters" came onto this earth exactly four years apart with Dorothy being the youngest and the last to leave, peacefully, on September 28, 2013. Dorothy graduated from Kingston General Hospital where she tended to a soldier whom she later married. She spent her life in the service of others and as death approached, she was concerned only about her family and continued to do so right up until the end. She was much loved and will be sorely missed. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Doug, and is survived by her children, Doug, Don and Yvonne; her grandchildren, Todd, Siri, Sara, Dan, Emily, Graeme, Megan and Emma; her daughters-in-law, Sharron and Joanne; son- in-law, Mark; great-grandchildren "Little" Luke, Liam, Taylor, Braden, Jameson, Drae and Joey and special persons, Lisa, "Big" Luke, Scott, Jill and Garrett. The service, a celebration of her life, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 19 at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. The family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff on the second floor of Pembina Place who made our mother's last days worth living. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to the Children's Rehabilitation Foundation, www.crf.mb.ca, in memory of our mom.
