LILLIAN JARVIS (nee MCCONKEY) On September 29, 2013 at the Victoria General Hospital we unexpectedly said goodbye to our loving mother, grandmother, sister, stepmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many, Lillian Jarvis. Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy McConkey, brother Ed, husband George Jarvis, and the father of her children Denis Gariepy. Mom will be sadly missed by her children; Debbie (Dan) Parisien, Robert Gariepy, and Nicole Gariepy, grandchildren; Chris, Dana (Billy), Amanda, Jessica, and Dylan, stepchildren; George, Stephanie, and Greg Jarvis, and their children, sisters; Evelyn (Fern), Betty, Ruth, and Wendy (Roger). Mom was an active member of the Rockwood ANAF 303 for many years. George was the Sports Chair and they took great pride in organizing many sporting events. Mom loved music, singing, slurpees, shopping, and spending time visiting with family and friends. Mom was such a kind and caring person and will be missed by all those who knew her. A heartfelt thank you goes out to auntie Evie and auntie Ruthie for the love, support and kindness that you have shown to mom, especially this last year. In keeping with Lillian's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of mom can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. We love you, and you will be in our hearts forever. • To Sister Lil's children, grandchildren, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, family and friends all. Truly Lil was an angel sent from Heaven and has returned to Heaven. God has blessed you and us to have been in her presence. Her laughter and smile was truly amazing. She called me a couple of weeks ago to just say hi and how she had to call. George and Lil were such a loving couple and now they are together again. Lil loved her children very much and how she talked about her grandchildren. I remember 1 year when they came home and all Michael kept saying Grandma, Grandma. Her face would light up and she would pick him up and both of them would have a big smile. May God give each one of you His peace and love. We here will be praying with and for you at this time. Love Beechville family, Patsy & Wook Crawford and family and friends. - Posted by: Patsy Crawford (Sister-in-law) on: Oct 02, 2013

  • To Debbie, Rob, Nicole We are sorry for your lose, I remember our mothers hanging out with each other alot when I was younger. I always remembered joking with her, and her calling me a little brat. I remember her being quite a funny lady. But most of all I remember her, because she was my mom's friend. Rest in peace Lil. - Posted by: Linda Konchuk & Family (Friend) on: Oct 02, 2013

  • To All Sister Lil's family and friends, It is with deep, deep sadness that we received the news of Lil's passing. She was a truly loving and giving lady who always went out of her way to make all feel comfortable and welcome when in her presence. We last spoke only a few months back when she called one Sunday evening just to say hello and reminisce a bit about the times we used to have during our years spent in Winnipeg; the many family get togethers when a party would suddenly break out just because; the guitar sing-alongs led by brother George while accompanied by Perry and Glenda, Ron and Bev and anyone else who happened to be around, are some of our fondest memories. And the food, ooh the food, so much food!! Our 8 years in Winnipeg and time spent at the Rockwood are far more memorable and were made much more enjoyable because of her being a big part of those years. We are so sorry to all that we are unable to be there to share your grief, but please take some comfort in knowing that you are not alone in this time of sorrow. As was previously said, Lil was a one of a kind person who had an open and loving personality that all who know her could not help but gravitate towards her. She will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by all who are left behind and, now may she forever rest in peace in the presence of loved ones who have gone before her. Godspeed Dear Sister, In-Laws Phil & Theresa, nieces Mandy, Marla and families - Posted by: Phil & Theresa Jarvis, and daughters Amanda & Marla (In-laws and nieces) on: Oct 02, 2013
