MARIA B. CABRAL It is with sorrowful hearts that the family announces the passing of Maria Cabral on October 2, 2013 at Kildonan Personal Care Home with her loving children at her side. She will be greatly missed by her sons Antonio, Agostinho (Brenda) and daughter Maria (George Deak). Also surviving her are granddaughters: Lisa and Jennifer (Kelly) Cabral, Erika and Jessica Deak; one brother Louis Bairos of Toronto and many nieces and nephews in Toronto, the United States and Portugal. She was predeceased by her loving husband of nearly 63 years Manuel, daughter-in-law Janice, son Jose, her parents, and brothers: Agostinho, Jose, Joao, Manuel and Antonio. Mom was born in the town of Santo Espirito on the island of Santa Maria in the Acores, Portugal on September 8, 1924 and immigrated to Canada in 1964. She worked for more than 20 years at Rice Sportswear before retiring in 1989. Mom was a very hard worker all her life and was totally dedicated to her family. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking, especially for family get-togethers...her perogies were one of their favourite dishes! Above all, her biggest love in life was her family. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the staff at Concordia Hospital for the wonderful care Mom received during her many stays there. Also to Kildonan Personal Care Home for their compassionate and gentle care during her short stay with them. A private family funeral mass will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Blood Services or to a charity of one's choice. Messages of condolences may be made online at www.ejcoutu.com.
