MARGARET (MARGE) DOBSON (nee SOKOLOSKI) August 13, 1928 - October 2, 2013 It is with great sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, gram, sister, auntie, and friend on October 2, 2013 with family at her side. She passed away peacefully after a short but valiant struggle with cancer. She will be loved and remembered by her daughter Lora, son, Robert (Gerri), grandchildren Amber, Adam and Stephanie, son, Rick (Marianna), sister Anna (Toots), many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Marge was predeceased by her husband Jim (1990), parents Laura and John, brother Arthur, sister Lily Wade, brothers and sisters-in-law Mary and Stuart Young, Eileen and Alec Macdonald, Jane and Mel Stone, Bill and Margaret Dobson. Marge was born in Selkirk and raised on the family farm in Walkleyburg. She knew as a teen that Nursing was her passion and graduated from St. Boniface Hospital in 1950. She came to Manitou and nursed for 42 years in a role as Emergency nursing, general duty, head nurse (Matron) and administrator of the Manitou Hospital. She married her husband Jim in September 1954 and raised their family on the Dobson farm in Manitou. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, floor curling, politics, watching curling, baseball, horsejumping and listening to Bomber games. In earlier days she travelled to USA with Lora, niece Colleen, sister Lily and we had stories about those snow storms that always seemed to happen when these four travelled. Marge especially loved her shepherd dog Princeton, who predeceased her in spring. Marge spoke her mind, had a wonderful sense of humour, and known for her generosity and supportiveness of her family. She lived on the farm until her passing. Special thanks go to wonderful neighbours Malcolm and Judy Young. My deepest sympathies to Marge's family. I worked with her at the Manitou Hsp. I also floor curled with her in Manitou and enjoyed her humor and kindness. I will miss her greatly. May she rest in peace. Betty Kelner - Posted by: Betty Kelner (Friend) on: Oct 05, 2013
