Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIMMY) ROBERT HAYES July 22, 1993 - October 5, 2013 With heavy hearts, we announce the tragic passing of our beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle, and friend, James Robert Hayes, on October 5, 2013 at the age of 20. James is survived by his loving parents Tim and Dianna Hayes; brother Dale Hayes; sister Bonnie (Michael) Krut; nephew Ty Hayes; niece Keelie Krut; Grandpa Irwin Hayes; Oma Elfrieda Strobel; Aunts Connie Strobel (Maurice), Sharon (Glen) Walker, Kim (Ward) McVey, Marilyn McFarlane (Nick); Uncle Kevin (Carmen) Hayes; cousins Cassandra and Alison Strobel, Donna (Chris) Prescott (son Devyn), Michele Walker, Cindy Masters (daughters, Ashley (son Chase), Madison), Tamara (Dan) and Sean (Ashley) McVey, Josh, Emily, Ian Hayes; and many other friends who will miss him dearly. James was greeted in heaven all too soon by his loving grandparents Ileen Hayes and Gerold Strobel, along with his Uncles Robert and Glen Strobel. Hold him tight and provide him with all the love he deserves. Our James was born with an infectious laugh and truly contagious engaging personality. His impeccable sense of humour and wit drew people to him. His heart of gold, kindness and thoughtfulness were beyond his years. A celebration of James's life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street. All are welcome to attend. You can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, Or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone, Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. We chose SMILE and BE FULL OF THE LOVE WE SHARED. We love you James our baby now and forever. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 224-1525

Tim and family: My family and I are so sorry for your loss. Although I did not know Jim, in reading all the wonderful comments about your son, he was obviously someone very special who impacted those around him. It must be painstakingly difficult for you and your family right now. However, cherish all the great memories that you were able to make with him. Although I will not be able to attend the service, please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Stay strong buddy. I grew up with James, right from grade one, he was one amazing kid, friends with everyone no matter the issue. It's hard to even comprehend that he's gone. My thoughts and prayers are with my wonderful family at this time, as well as all the families involved. This is such a hard time for all of us and it breaks my heart when I think about it. It doesn't seem real. I keep getting up and thinking it can't be true. He was taken far too soon from this earth. God bless him. God bless his family. And may he rest in peace. I love you, James. - Posted by: Cassandra Strobel (Cousin) on: Oct 08, 2013

Our hearts go out to you for your loss. We feel your pain. Our daughter Malyssa Brown went to school with James, as did our beloved Kaitlyn (who lived with us). Kaitlyn tragically lost her life last year on the Disraeli Bridge, and so we understand all the emotions that go with a tragic loss. Your family is in our prayers. - Posted by: Don & Valeri Brown () on: Oct 08, 2013

We really only knew James as neighbors over the fence... he was the nice kid too polite to come over the fence to get his football when it came in our yard. I would give a shout, tell him it was ok and pass him his ball... he would always say thanks with a shy mischievous grin on his face. He always said hello when I saw him in the yard… he was simply a nice kid! As you know we have 3 sons ourselves, and hearing this news was a huge shock to us. Our hearts and prayers are with your family and if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to give us a shout just over the fence! Mitch - Posted by: Mitch Driver (Neighbor next door) on: Oct 08, 2013
