WILMA EMMA SCHAU Peacefully on Friday morning October 4, 2013, our mom went home to be with the Lord. Her legacy of love and care she had for others, the joy and laughter and the extraordinary giving spirit will live in the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Among her many talents, the true expression of her character was evident through her flower arrangements, delicious cooking and amazing desserts. She leaves to mourn her husband of 51 years Raymond Schau of Dugald, her sons Rick, Glen (Dana), daughter Lisa, sister Helen (Bob) Parker, brothers Ernie (Sheila) and Waldy (Eleanor) Birkhan, and many special nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mom and dad John and Hermina Birkhan and son Ron Schau. Mom was born on January 20, 1941 and grew up on a farm in the Burrows District outside of Dauphin, MB. She moved to Winnipeg when she was 17 years old with her sister Helen and soon started working for the Canadian Wheat Board. Not long after, she married Raymond on June 2, 1962. They started their life in Tyndall Park and a few years later moved to Dugald where they spent their life raising a family. Along with gardening and her family, she worked hard outside her home with Merchants Consolidated and Home Care in the Oakbank and Dugald area. Above all of her life pursuits, her true treasure was in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. A celebration service will be held in her honour on Friday, October 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Springs Church, 725 Lagimodiere. Mom, we will miss you and long for the day we can be together again with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
