SHIRLEY RUTH LINDSAY (nee MAINMAN) With Paul, her husband of 60 years at her side, Shirley passed on peacefully early Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the age of 81. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Patricia Adams (Darrell) and their children Jared and Kevin, Bruce (Patrice) and their children Matthew and Alaina, and John (Donna) and his children, with Tracey, Sullivan and Rosemarie. Shirley will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters Gerald (Elaine), Eric (Kathy), Elizabeth (Ross), Diane (Tom), Debbie (Robert) and Michael (Cheryl) and her nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley was always generous with her time and gave a lifetime of volunteering. She was especially active with her Fort Garry parish, St. Paul Anglican Church, and served on many committees including the Parish Council, Altar Guild and Senior's Supper. Her love of reading and giving came together with her contributions to the Holy Trinity Anglican Bookstore. Shirley, with Paul, was a leader of the Cub Scout troop at St. Paul's. She was a volunteer with Age and Opportunity for over 20 years, and was recognized for her service. Paul and Shirley enjoyed many years together at the ReFit Centre and thank everyone there for their support. Paul and his family would also thank the staff of the Victoria General Hospital and the Riverview Health Centre for their devoted care and attention for Shirley during her illness. A Celebration of Life for Shirley will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Paul Anglican Church at 830 North Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba (204-475-7549) followed by a reception. Donations may be made in the memory of Shirley Lindsay to the Anglican charity: The Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (www.pwrdf.org) or to the charity of your choice.
