She was predeceased by her husband Herb in 2003. She will be lovingly missed by her sons Allan (Nan) of Brockville, Ontario and Bruce (Diane) of Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the proud grandmother of Steven (Michelle) of Winnipeg, Christopher (Rhoni) of Gibson, BC and Ashley (Darren) of Winnipeg. Great-grandmother to Alexandra, Findley and Margot. I will never forget the care I got from Herb & Alberta and the fun we had during the early part of 1955 while staying at the Whyards on Elgin St. while completing the school year prior to joining my Mom (Elizabeth) and sister in Port Arthur. - Posted by: Bruce Barker (co-worker at Harley's drug store, school friend of Allan and Bruce, and 3rd son of Herb and Alberta ) on: Oct 22, 2013

Alberta was like a second mother to me. I spent MANY happy days and nights with the Whyard family. Even tho' I left Canada almost 50 years ago, she was part of my life, so I think of her often. One of my fondest memories was when she decided to take up smoking. She "smoked" Peter Jackson which was a short step above breathing air and, occasionally, almost got a little smoke in her mouth - we all laughed. - Posted by: Chuck Shannon (school friend of Al and Bruce) on: Oct 21, 2013
