Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS HUBERT MAURICE LABOSSIERE In loving memory of our dear dad, grandad and brother, who died September 29, 2013 at Deer Lodge Centre. Denis (Denny) was married to his beloved wife, Evelyn (nee LaPorte), for 53 years. Evey died in 2005. He is survived by his children Gregory, Corinne, Douglas and J, son-in-law David Gelley, daughter-in-law Gloria, grandson Alexandre and his sisters Gisele, Edith, Marilyn and Renee. Denis was predeceased by his brothers Jules, Marcel, Etienne, Yves and Jean Baptiste and his sisters Alexandrine and Blande. Denis was born in Somerset, Manitoba to Alexandre LaBossiere and Juliette Savoie. During the Second World War, at the age of 17, he joined the navy and served overseas. Returning to Winnipeg after the war, Denis studied for his Chartered Accountant designation and later joined the Hudson's Bay Company. Denis's career took him, Evey and the kids to Victoria, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto. After moving back to Winnipeg in 1978, golfing with his buddies at the St. Charles Country Club became a special joy for him. On Saturday, October 12, a private service was held for Denis at St. Norbert Cemetery followed by a celebration of his life at the St. Charles Country Club. Special thanks to the many extraordinary people who provided Denis with compassionate care: Dr. Darrel Drachenberg and his team, and the staffs of St. Boniface Hospital and of Deer Lodge Centre. Memorial donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolences at www.desjardinsfuneralchapel.ca. I am so sad to hear the Uncle Denny passed away. I enjoyed my visit with him in 2007 after my father passed away (Yves LaBossiere). He sent me very special birthday cards over the years. I will remember him with great fondness. Debbie Joy - Posted by: Debbie Joy (Neice) on: Oct 16, 2014
