GURMEET SINGH GILL August 16, 1947 - October 20, 2013 With great sadness we announce the passing of Gurmeet Singh Gill at the age of 66. He was the son of late Gurnand S. Gill, Harbans K. Gill, and Dalip K. Gill and the grandson of late Bhajan S. Claire and Kishan K. Claire and late Kartar S. Gill and Kishan K. Gill. His aunts late Gurcharan K. Sidhu (late Jalour S. Sidhu), Ranjit K. Sidhu (Gurmel S. Sidhu), and Balwinder K. Gill (late Satpal S. Gill) and his uncles late Harbans S. Claire (late Malkit K. Claire), late Inderjit S. Claire (Baljit K. Claire) and Ranjit S. Claire (Surjit K. Claire) had an integral part in raising him and making him the man he was. Dedicated and hardworking, he worked at CN Rail for over 30 years, retiring in 2008. Outside of work, he was active in various political campaigns, unions and served on several boards. Over the years his labour of love was the establishment and success of the Punjabi Community. A committed family man, he was instrumental in keeping his family connected and together over the years, instilling his values of hard work and selflessness in those around him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Gurmeet K. Gill. Mother in-law Sham K. Rai (late Bhan Singh Rai) Siblings Gurtej S. Gill (Harbans K. Gill), Rajbir K. Sekhon (late ¬Baljinder S. Sekhon), Dalbir K. Randhawa (Gurdev S. Randhawa), Sukbir K. Sandhu (Jaswant S. Sandhu) and Gurjot S. Gill (Hardeep K. Gill). Children Amandeep K. Mundi, (Hargovinder S. Mundi), Navdeep K. Gill, Jasdeep K. Bhangu (Manpreet S. Bhangu), and Amardeep S. Gill. Grandchildren Asha, Serena, and Rajan Mundi. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. To honour his memory a funeral will be held at Thompson 'In the Park' Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB on October 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with prayers to follow at Singh Sahba Gurdwara, 4000 Sturgeon Road.
