EILEEN MARY MCLEOD It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Eileen McLeod. Eileen passed away peacefully on Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 88 years. Remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters Lorraine Giesbrecht (Don), Colleen Funk (Ray), son Dale McLeod, daughter-in-law Lori McLeod, grandchildren Trent Giesbrecht (Natalie), Nevin Giesbrecht (Chantale), Kyle Giesbrecht (Kyra), Justin McLeod, Jenna McLeod, Steven Funk, Jeremy Funk and great- grandchildren Lexi, Ronan and Phoebe Giesbrecht and sisters-in-law Mary Sellen (Dick), Violet McLeod and brother-in-law Dave Braidwood. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ken in January 2013, her parents Edward and Nora Pethybridge, brothers and a sister and her dear son Wes McLeod. Eileen was born in Toronto on May 19, 1925 and moved with her family to Manitoba. She met Ken at a dance and married and settled in Dugald where they raised their family. She loved to sing and play guitar. Listening to her children and grandchildren at music recitals and watching them at sporting events were her greatest joy. Eileen cared deeply for her community and always helped in any way she could. She will be sadly missed. Special thanks to 3E and the Palliative Care Team at Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care given to our mom. A celebration of Eileen's life will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at OakBank United Church 582 Balsam Crescent in OakBank with interment at Green Acres Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Dugald Community Club. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba 493 Madison Street, Winnipeg, MB R3J 1J2. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

  • My sincere condolences to Eileen and Ken's family. They were very good friends of Janie and I. We went to many oldtime fiddling contests, barn dances, suppers, etc. with them. I miss my old friends. An old old friend Kai Winther - Posted by: Kai Winther (Old Friend) on: Oct 31, 2013
