VIVIAN DESJARDINS (nee CARISSE) It is with great sorrow that the family of Vivian Desjardins announce her passing, after a lengthy and courageous battle, on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 71. Vivian was born in Ottawa, Ontario, on August 5, 1942, to Ernest and Irene Carisse and was the eldest of four children: Dennis (Nancy), Mark and Lynn. Vivian grew up in the Ottawa area and in the 1960s she met the love of her life Richard Desjardins, together they had two daughters Tracee Reimer (Derek) and Heidi Desjardins (Tony Clara); along with her daughters Vivian was also the beloved granny of Tanner, Cassidee and Braedon as well as a sister, aunt and friend to many. Vivian was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2003; her brother Mark in 1971 and parents Ernest (1966) and Irene (1998). Vivian's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at the Selkirk General Hospital as well as Vivian's best friend Irene for her constant support and cherished friendship. Funeral Mass will take place in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk, MB on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the Mass in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Cemetery.
