GIOVINA CASTELLI With broken hearts we announce the passing of Giovina Castelli; (née Allocati), aged 60. Peacefully in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 31, 2013, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, we said good-bye to our precious mamma. She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband of 46 years, Mario; her three children, Emilia (William), Tony and Vittorio. She is also survived by her sisters Antonietta Barbee; Elena Ifandis (George), sisters-in-law, Dora Castelli, Brigida Braccio, Antonietta Marino (Nicola); Maria Pina Buttino (Mario), her nieces and nephews; Teresa Migliore (Gian Maria), Anastasia Porpiglia (Phil) (Vittoria), Jennifer Barbee, Dimitri Ifandis, Liberato Campanaro, Antonio Campanaro, Grace Giglione, Nick Braccio (Alessandra), Tony Braccio, Emilio Braccio (Lisa), Lucia Buttino, Giuliano Buttino and Danilo Buttino. She was predeceased by her parents Vittorio Allocati and Teresa Picciano, her in-laws Antonio Castelli and Emilia Buttino, brother-in-law Emilio Braccio and by her nephew Gianni Marino. Mom was born in Buenos Aires, November 16, 1952. After her parents immigrated back to Italy, she met and married the love of her life, Mario. By age 25, she had her three children and her family was complete. Mom was devoted to her family and always put her family's needs before hers. She showered her family with love and attention and was an inspiration to us all; teaching her children life lessons about strength, love, respect, self-worth, and dignity. She made her home a family gathering place for everyone. All her nieces and nephews would look forward to spending Christmas and other holidays at Zia Giovina's house. She will be dearly missed by everyone. We would like to thank Dr. Lotocki and his team at CancerCare St. Boniface and the angels that work on the 4th floor of the Gyne unit, who made our mom's final days comfortable. Riposi in pace Mamma, sei sempre nei nostri cuori. Services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue at 11:00 a.m. with viewing taking place an hour before.
