He is predeceased by his wife Gertraude. Also predeceased by his parents James and Jean and by brothers James, John and Douglas, sons-in-law Andy Poirier, Elroy Schlag and Carl Fuchs and great-granddaughter Ashley Schlag. He is survived by his children, Jean Poirier, Evelyn Fuchs, Linda Grienke (Gerald), Sharon Schlag, David (Heather), Stanley (Susan) and Richard (Marchele); also 13 beloved grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Margaret Corniellie, a sister-in-law Shonney Paterson and a very good friend Marie Schreyer. Funeral service will be Friday, November 8 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to CancerCare, 675 McDermot, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Kin Place Nursing Home, P.O. Box 28, Oakbank, MB R0E 1J0 or a charity of your choice.
