Condolences & Memories (36 entries)

  • It is very sad to learn now of "Ricky's" sudden passing. I well remember his smile and gentle nature. He was as beautiful a preschool child as I imagine him to have become as an adult. Having also lost an adult son, we too-well know that long and lonely struggle through the 'valley of the shadow'. May you be comforted along the way by the recognition of many signs Rick is still with you .. a part of who you were, who you are, and who you will become. Peace and Caring. - Posted by: Noreen Duncan (Kindergarten Teacher General Byng School) on: Dec 03, 2014

  • I am at a loss for words which is very rare for me! Dawn, Walter and Charlene, I am terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your son and brother, Rick. Although I haven't seen him for years, I have very fond memories of babysitting...one being sure "Ricky" got to bed and pretended he was asleep just as his Mom and Dad's car was pulling up when they came home, it was "our" secret...may you cherish the happy memories and keep them close to your heart during this very sad time for you. My sincere condolences also, to Rick's wife and children. - Posted by: Cathy Graf (Acheson) ((former Ft. Garry neighbour and friend)) on: Nov 11, 2013

  • To all the Hutsebauts and extended family near and far, we send our love and heartfelt thanks for sharing Rick with us over the years. Rick's devotion to his family was second to none but he was always ready to help someone else, or to stop and to talk, or to share a laugh - whenever and wherever. He made time for other people. Rick was a fine hockey coach but an even better hockey dad, the best kind, the one you wanted with you in the stands. We suspect that held true for being a ringette dad as well for all those years. And we'll never forget him wearing shorts at the rink deep into October! As I said to him on many occasions, "You're still one of the good guys, Rick." We'll miss him terribly. - Posted by: Robyn, Brock and Eric Wolfe (friends and fellow St-Noberters; co-hockey-parents; played with Nelson and for Coach Rick ) on: Nov 09, 2013
