Date of Passing: Nov 07, 2013
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY CONSTANCE ZAMPARUTTI (nee CALIGUIRE) Mary peacefully left this world for the next on November 7, 2013 at Misericordia Place. Mary will be forever remembered by her daughter Franca Horsman (Wayne), her son Angelo (Michelle), grandchildren, David, Dana, Angelica and Belle'Linda, sister Margaret, nephew Robert (Shaune), their children Riley and Lauren, as well as other family and friends. Mary was predeceased by her husband Luigi in 1965, parents Dominic and Kathleen Caliguire, sister Toni, and brothers-in-law Armando Altarui and Bob Spetifore. Mary was born in Winnipeg in 1924. She graduated from Kelvin High School and then worked at various clerical positions. Mary met Luigi and they were married in 1957. Upon Luigi's sudden death in 1965, Mary was left to raise two young children. With the help of her family, Mary met this challenge head on. She became employed by The Winnipeg School Division and was soon the secretary of John M. King School. Mary loved her work, her co-workers and the students. Mary retired in 1989 at age 65. She had many fond memories of those years and the friendships she made. Now Mary was free to travel, which she loved. In the ensuing years, she took many wonderful trips with her sister Margaret and great friends. Mary was a long-time member of Holy Rosary Church and the CWL. Mary loved nothing more than to be surrounded by family and friends. Her door was always open to all who stopped by. We will miss her fun-loving, easy-going personality. Her tenacious spirit kept her going through all of life's challenges. Mary knew what was really important in life and lived it to the best of her ability. We would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff of Misericordia Place who were all so wonderful to mom during the last two years of her life. If desired, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society Manitoba. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. A private interment to follow. Mary and my Mom were life long friends. They both attended Kelvin High School. I have fond memories of Mary and her children Franca and Angelo annual visit to our farm in the summer time and our family visiting Mary's home in the city. My mom really enjoyed those visits and they talked and laughed like two school girls. Our sympathies to Franca and Angelo and their families. - Posted by: Heather Hacault (daughter of Eva (Mary's school friend)) on: Nov 11, 2013
