WILLIAM GEORGE PROCHUK June 23, 1937- November 1, 2013 Suddenly after a brief illness our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at the Concordia Hospital. William or Bill, as close family and friends called him, was born June 23, 1937 in Selkirk, Manitoba. Bill spent his youngest years moving around rural Manitoba with his parents and siblings, and moved to Winnipeg in the 1950s. During his working years, Bill held positions with various companies, but retired from CN Rail after numerous years of dedicated service. In retirement Bill enjoyed working on cars, and watches and collecting antiques. His fondest memories were of quiet gatherings of family and close friends. Left to cherish his memory is Dorothy, his wife of almost fifty-one years. Dorothy was the love of his life and his constant companion since 1959 when they first were introduced to each other by lifelong friends. Bill also leaves to mourn three beloved daughters, Brenda, Wendy (Dave Cymbalisty), Barb (Jason Wilkinson), and three grandsons Pearce, Reece, and Quinn Cymbalisty of Calgary. Also mourning the loss of Bill is his brother, Allan and Heather Prochuk (Alana) of Vancouver, BC, brother-inlaw John and Patt Louchuk (Sonya and John) of Buffalo Point Manitoba, and cherished friends Peter and Diane Wachniak of Winnipeg. Bill was predeceased by his parents (William and Anne Prochuk), brother (Les Prochuk) and in-laws (John and Tina Louchuk) all of Winnipeg. The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the compassionate care that Bill received from the doctors and nurses at Concordia Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate the life of our husband, father and grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
