KATHERINE PITSCH (nee YUNYK) December 24, 1920 - November 6, 2013 With an everlasting love, we announce that our mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed on peacefully at Middlechurch Personal Care Home. Born to John and Anna Yunyk in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she is survived by her sons, Terry (Ronnie) and Bob (Susan), daughter Valerie Jaworski (Wayne), granddaughters from Bob, Jocelyn (Aleks) and Ainsley (Raph), grandsons Marc and Kevin Jaworski (Dana), and great-grandchildren Jack and Aubrey Jaworski. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, sister Mary, and brothers Bill and Alex. Mom dedicated herself to her children; our happiness was her comfort. She was a sweet and gentle lady, always beautifully groomed and dressed. She worked part-time before dad's death to help him create the best home environment possible for her children. Throughout her life with her husband, children, and friends, she travelled to California, Chicago, Florida, British Columbia, many European countries, Las Vegas, and particular bus destinations. Having been a seamstress before marriage, mom sewed exceptional clothing and household items. Her love of gardening created a huge backyard garden, from which food was cooked or baked to a mouth-watering delight. We will always remember her delicious perogies. She and dad were avid bowling league members and trophy winners. They had a group of friends that remained close throughout the years; together they shared many good times. After dad's passing, mom was able to remain independent in her house and then her condo for 35 years. Cremation has taken place, followed by a private family graveside service and interment at Elmwood Cemetery. The care and comfort provided to mom by staff in her ward at Middlechurch was exceptional. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
