FRANCES CROTHERS 1908 - 2013 Peacefully, after a long, wonderful life, Frances Crothers passed away at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg on November 14, 2013 at the age of 105 years. She was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1998. She will be missed deeply by her son Jeffrey (Sandy), grandchildren Beverley (Chris), Samantha (Russell) and great-grandson Dean, and by Shirley (Eugene). Mom enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to sew, cook, play cards and read friends' futures. She also loved to work on her car in my driveway, doing bodywork and checking fluids, up until she fractured her hip at the age of 96 years old. Mom took care of the games room at Appleton Estates on Niakwa Road for 25 years and she resided there until December 2012. Two of mom's longest and dearest friends Marie and Rita still live there today. She has lived a long fulfilling life, has seen a lot of things, has touched many hearts, and was strong to the end. In keeping with Frances' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial celebrating her life will be held. A longer obituary will appear in Monday's newspaper.   • Jeff, your Mom was a wonderful Lady, a real classy broad, a real Dame, always laughing, positive, great cook, your place in the 70's was the place for great eats and much needed sleeps!   • I'm not sure if this is the same Fran Crothers but I remember as a little girl she would babysit me and I loved this woman with all my heart. So if this is the same woman did she ever live in Winnipeg on Heather Road and had a son named Jeffery?
