BEATRICE FINK (nee PORTER) 1923 - 2013 On November 11, 2013 at the Victoria General Hospital, Beatrice, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her son Bruce (Eileen), her grandchildren; Kade Potosky (Karen), Korbin Potosky (Paula), Catlin Berryman (Carl), Brittany Magus and her great-grandchildren, Aila, Elle, and Wren. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1992 and her daughter Linda in 1998. Mom was born on January 6, 1923 at the family farm near Bredenbury, Saskatchewan. She moved to Yorkton, to work in retail services and married Arthur Fink in October 1951. In 1967, the family relocated to Brandon, Manitoba where she continued to work until her retirement in 1979. Beatrice and Arthur also resided in Creston, British Columbia for a brief period, but their love of the prairies and Riding Mountain National Park drew them back to Manitoba in 1983 to live year around at Onanole, Manitoba. In 2002, mom moved back to Brandon where she lived until 2011. Her final move was into Winnipeg, where she was a resident at The Waverley until her passing. Mom loved to socialize and had many good friends. One of her favourite pastimes was watching sports on TV. She especially enjoyed watching the Saskatchewan Roughriders and curling. She will always be remembered for her strong spirit and determination in the face of adversity. In keeping with mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private service celebrating her life. Interment and a graveside service will take place in Onanole, Manitoba in the spring of 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. Mom, you will be greatly missed and always loved and remembered. • Aunt Beattie could always find the humourous side of things. No matter what life sent her she would find a way to laugh that would bring a smile to everyone. She will be greatly missed but she has left everyone with great memories and much to smile about. - Posted by: Bob Miller (Nephew) on: Dec 01, 2013

  • WISHING YOU WARM MEMORIES, TENDER REFLECTION, AND MOMENTS OF PEACE AT THIS SAD TIME. SINCERE SYMPATHY. - Posted by: MELVIN & JEAN ERICKSON (FRIEND ) on: Nov 23, 2013

  • She was a very dear friend. We walked together, coffeed and lunched together almost daily until we spent more time at the farm. We laughed together, shared our sorrows. She was one of a kind--young in spirit. I miss our weekly phone calls. But more than that I miss her love and friendship. My deepest sympathy to her whole family. God comfort you with His loving and compassionate arms. Please let us know when you plan to have the interment at Onanole in spring. Justina - Posted by: Justina Pankratz (Friend) on: Nov 23, 2013
