MARK GRETCHEN July 15, 1944 - November 24, 2013 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mark Gretchen, our dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend on November 24, 2013 at the St. Boniface Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark was born on July 15, 1944 in Fraserwood, MB. He was predeceased by his father Paul, mother Teckla, and his brother John. He leaves to mourn his loving daughters Marcia, Monica (Greg) Porter, son Curtis, grandchildren Nathan, Jace, Brayden, and Jace, sisters Ann, Mary, Bernice (Nick), dear friend Maureen, and many other close family and friends. Dad was a very caring, kind man who would help anyone in need. He had a zest for life, amazing sense of humour, and brave spirit. Mark worked very hard all his life as an expert sheet metal and roofer until his retirement. "We will miss you so much Dad, but we know you are now free of pain, playing your harmonica with the angels. You are forever and always our hero. "you got that left"." A special thank you to his loving nephew Jeff Walton for being there for Dad in so many ways. Our mother Maureen for caring for Dad with such love and kindness in his final weeks. Friends and family for their support in this difficult time. The staff at the St. Boniface Hospital 6th Floor, and CancerCare Manitoba.
