GORDON SILK 1929 - 2013 It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Silk, at the age of 84, on November 23, 2013. Gordon will be missed by his loving wife, Bertha, with whom he shared more than 31 years. Gordon was predeceased by his parents: Catherine and Fred, brothers Fred and Douglas, and sister Jean. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Barbara (Vancouver), sisters-in-law Pat (Vancouver) and Stephanie, brother-in-law Henry (Arborg), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. No birthday ever passed without a card and phone call from Uncle Gordie. Gordon was born in Winnipeg, growing up in the west end and attending Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. After graduation, Gordon worked for Canada Packers in the Cost Account Department for over 40 years. Following his retirement Gordon volunteered with Meals on Wheels and CancerCare. Gordon also helped seniors prepare their income tax returns. Gordon was dedicated to Holy Trinity Church, volunteering in many capacities. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Graham at Donald. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Outreach Mission Ministry at Holy Trinity Church.
