Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ANNIE BONNER (nee SIM) April 3, 1924 - November 26, 2013 Surrounded by family Margaret passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on November 26, 2013. Left to mourn the loss of Margaret is her beloved husband Ivan, their children, Doug (Rosemary), Hugh (Mari), Stephen (Colleen), Blair (Wendy) and Linda. Her grandchildren Ben (Leanne), Alex, Amanda (Graham), Julia, Josh, Nikki, Dane and Faith will miss her presence and the individual affection she showed each of them. Her sisters-in-law Dora, Joyce and Eva shared a special friendship with her over the years. Her many nieces and nephews remember her with great fondness. Margaret was predeceased by her parents James and Fannie Sim, her siblings Jack (Helen) Sim, Muriel (Gordon) Milne, Eileen (Neil) Braidwood and Ella (Fred) Colebourn. Daughter of James and Fannie Sim, Margaret was born April 3, 1924 in Domain, Manitoba. She spent her formative years with her siblings helping out on the family farm. She moved into Winnipeg with her sister Ella. It was here that she met Ivan, who she married in 1954. They moved into their house on Buxton Road in Fort Garry where they made many friends and raised their five children. Margaret and Ivan made friends wherever they went. After they left their home on Buxton Road, they moved to Appleton Estates where they fostered many new friendships. More recently, they moved to The Waverley where they had cultivated new friendships. Margaret was a devoted mother whose focus was her children, of whom she was immensely proud. She was a wonderful baker, which was appreciated by all. Margaret was a member of the Pembina Curling Club where she formed many lasting friendships. Some of Margaret's happiest memories were spent at the family cottage at Nutimik Lake. She loved to swim and spend time with Ivan and the kids. It was here she developed nerves of steel as each member of her flock was introduced to various water sports. She enjoyed her excursions to rural Manitoba to visit members of the Campbell and Sim families. Margaret welcomed each new member into her family as her own and for that we will be forever grateful. She was a lovely little lady who was a strong force with a great sense of humor. She has touched each and every one of us and will be greatly missed. The family would like to acknowledge staff from the Victoria and St. Boniface hospitals, as well as the transfer team who displayed professional and compassionate care for Margaret. Funeral service to be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Crescent Fort Rouge United Church, 525 Wardlaw Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Private interment December 3, 2013 at Chapel Lawn. If there is another world, she lives in bliss. If there is none, she made the best of this. Robert Burns

My condolences to the Bonner family. Although it's been many years since I last saw "Aunt" Margaret, I remember it fondly. She was such a friendly and sweet lady. - Posted by: Heather Sim Harris (Cousin (James Sim's daughter)) on: Dec 06, 2013

After seeing Marg & Ivan at occasional Campbell family gatherings, we really got to know them at the Salisbury House where our Wednesday Lunch would often coincide by chance and we would share a booth for lunch. Marg was a truly gentle lady whom we shall miss. - Posted by: Floyd & Rose Campbell (Distant relative) on: Nov 30, 2013

Love to all the Bonners. I always loved when Aunt Margaret and Mom were together. It never mattered the amount of time between seeing each other, they were right back, like no time had passed. I remember all the visits Aunt Margaret and Uncle Ivan made to visit us in Texas, and I cherish those memories. Thoughts and prayers to the entire Bonner family. - Posted by: Sheri Leslie (Niece) on: Nov 30, 2013
