REGINA DOERKSEN November 9, 1946 - November 30, 2013 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother and wife after brief battle with cancer. Regina is predeceased by her son Darren. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Edward, of 42 years, her children Ed Jr. (Betty-lou) Doerksen, Sherry (Terry) Rye, and Stephanie (Mike) Pacheco, daughter-in-law Rochelle Doerksen, grandchildren Amber, Andrew, Amanda, Travis, Brayden, Devin, Dylan, Brooke, Matthew and Hayley, and great-grandchildren Carter and Wyatt. Regina was born in Poland; she came to Canada when she was 13 and lived in Dauphin, Manitoba until she met her husband Edward and moved to Winnipeg. Regina loved spending time with her grandchildren and going for coffee when she could, but for fun she liked going to the casino to play BINGO. Mom was the most amazing woman I knew, she was very giving, she had a big heart and she always put others first. She was very thankful for the love and support from her friends and family who were there by her side when she was fighting to get stronger, but she just couldn't fight anymore. She is at peace and is not suffering. I have never met a stronger woman who fought until the end. We would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre GH3 ward for all of their care and compassion that they gave mom. God saw you getting tired, But a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you, And whispered, "Come to me." A Celebration of Regina's life will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium, 1800 Day Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Regina to CancerCare Manitoba. Funeral Arrangements in Care of Wheeler Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematorium 1800 Day Street 204-224-1525

  • Regina mieszkała w Chojnie do 13 roku życia. Odwoziłam Ją na lotnisko w Warszawie, bo babcia i dziadek Osadca ściągnęli ją do Kanady. Potem dwa razy spotkałyśmy się w Chojnie. Nie wiedziałam o Jej śmierci. Jest mi smutno, bo byłyśmy przyjaciółkami. Wyrazy współczucia rodzinie. - Posted by: Helena Lachowicz (Hołuń) (Mama Reginy(Cecylia) to moja kuzynka) on: Jan 08, 2017
