  • We have heavy hearts as we say good bye to Joanie...her smile was contagious and her heart enveloping. She was an amazing sister, always there for me when I was growing up...I remember the days when Joanie was my greatest advocate when her, Margaret and Dolores were going to the movies and I wanted to go...Joanie always made it happen...and off we went to see Doris Day.... She loved her golf and when I was younger I could not understand how anyone found enjoyment out of hitting a small white ball...and now I share her passion..I love the game..... Joanie struggled with health issues for a long time....but she fought courageously and we were blessed to have her as long as we did due to the wonderful exceptional and loving care given to her by Eddie. We are so thankful that Joanie had him in her life. Now is your time, Joanie, fly with the Angels......Rest in Peace.....you will be missed.......Love Bill and Pam - Posted by: Bill and Pam Wiebe (Loving Brother and Sister-in-law) on: Dec 08, 2013

  • We were saddened to hear of Aunty Joanie's passing. Our deepest condolences to you, Uncle Ed and family. You are in our thoughts. So many wonderful memories of time spent with Aunty Joanie; Winnipeg Beach, golfing (she put me to shame), family Christmas get togethers, her incomparable baking and cooking. Her witty sense of humour and kind heart left an everlasting impression on both myself and my wife. Ed, you and Joanie will forever have my gratitude and respect for the kindness and patience you displayed throughout our lives especially the early years in Transcona. Aunty, I know you kept an eye on me then, and I hope you know how much I appreciated it. Uncle Eddie, I will forever remember the times at Pine Ridge; the golfing advise you gave me was invaluable. I will forever be thankful for the gift that is the game of golf that you both imparted on me. The spirit of the game taught me patience and respect, virtues I am thankful that you both were instrumental in teaching me. Aunty Joanie can now enjoy unlimited perogies, holopchi, piroshki and no tee times required. - Posted by: Darryl & Heather Fahlman (nephew ) on: Dec 07, 2013
