RAY ST. LAURENT February 11, 1944 - December 12, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Arthur St. Laurent. Ray was predeceased by his father Leon St. Laurent. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Dora St. Laurent; children Dave (Jenn), Christine (John); grandchildren Brian, Matthew, Brendan and Kellie; brothers Rolly (Freeda), Gerry (Jasmin), Ed (Lynne), Louis (Mona), Dennis (Maureen) and Pat (Deb), as well as numerous nephews and nieces and his good friend Bernice. Ray grew up in St. Vital. He later moved to Transcona to raise his family. Ray enjoyed sports. He played slow pitch, coached his daughter in baseball and coached his son in hockey. Ray was a big Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and luckily enough lived to watch them win the Grey Cup one more time. Ray started his career in automotive parts at Terry Balkan. He then moved onto McNaught Motors where he worked for 32 years. The family would like to thank the nurses and all staff at the H.S.C. GA4 for all their care and support during a difficult time. The memorial service will take place at Wheeler Funeral Home 1800 Day Street on December 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Always a pleasure to meet with Ray. Often quiet but a very infectious smile. Once he got to sharing his thoughts, he could really communicate. Rest in peace Ray. - Posted by: Court Brooker (Work and friend.) on: Dec 21, 2013

I had the pleasure of working with Ray for many years. As I read Allan Hermanson's message I smiled, that was so like Ray. He was such a character. He was the best. My deepest condolences to the St. Laurent family. - Posted by: Susan Barrett (Friend) on: Dec 16, 2013

I am so saddened by the loss of a dear friend. Ray was a man who you could always rely on. He would do anything for anyone. He also loved his meat and potatoes, BBQ, any kind of steak but he wasn't too crazy about vegetables. Ray loved his children, often spoke of them to me. He was a man of deep feelings for all people in his life but he was most joyful at work. Ray was a generous person and worked very hard. He will be missed. May you rest in peace my friend, you will always be in my heart. - Posted by: bernice Matwick (friend) on: Dec 15, 2013
