JEAN DANIUK (CHAIKOWSKY) Peacefully, on December 10, 2013, Jean Daniuk passed away after living a long fulfilling life. Jean was born September 6, 1921 to Gregory and Anna Chaikowsky in Winnipeg, MB. Jean leaves to mourn her sons Wayne, Bryan (Mary), Larry (Debbie); her grandchildren Curtis (Christina), Patricia, David (Erin), Jaimie (Nick), Nicole, Stephen, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her parents, husband Gregory and infant son Larry Stephen. She was the last surviving member of her family, being predeceased by her brothers Steve, Frank, Michael, Walter, John, Peter and sister Olga. Jean was a strong willed woman who was determined to live in her own home and care for herself right to the end. She enjoyed her morning newspaper and coffee at the kitchen table, doing her own laundry, ironing, cooking and dishes. Jean was an amazing cook and loved making Christmas dinner for her family to enjoy. She made her own cabbage rolls, perogies, Christmas cookies and even homemade Paska at Easter. She spent countless hours knitting to provide slippers, mittens, sweaters and blankets to her family. Viewing will take place at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. The family would like to thank Dr. Abbott as well as nurses and aides of unit 11 on the 4th floor of Seven Oaks General Hospital for their care, compassion and patience shown toward our mother during the past two months.
