KERRI DAWN ERIN CHOLOSKY It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kerri Dawn on December 10, 2013. Kerri Dawn will be missed tremendously by parents: Gary and Diana; siblings: Dena (Jared), Dustin, Lisa (Peter), and Jill; grandmother Dorothy (Cholosky); nieces and nephews: Journee, Jordynne, Braeleigh, Aubrie, Keirra, Jude, Ella, Solly and Danielle; and her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also will be greatly missed by her dog, Jango, who was the love of her life, and her loyal friend, Mark Flynn, who was a great support to her over the past year. She was predeceased by grandparents, Dorothy and Cam (MacIntosh) and Joseph (Cholosky), and her dogs, Saffron and Cinnamon. Kerri Dawn was born October 17, 1980 in Selkirk, Manitoba, where she lived most of her life. Kerri Dawn was a very likeable child. Many were drawn to her because she was exceptionally nice. She was shy, kind, affectionate and sensitive. She felt deeply. Kerri Dawn was always close with her family. Her whole life she spent a great deal of time with her parents and shared everything with them. Her brother and sisters were among her dearest friends. She socialized with them frequently. She had a special relationship with her nieces and nephews, who admired and adored her, and often tried to emulate her. They took pride in being told of their similarities to Kerri. In 2008, she went to Disney World with them, which was a very special memory for everyone. She was very expressive of her love for her family and they were fortunate to receive her hugs, kisses and "I love you's" daily. From the time she was a child, she was called "Care Bear". The nickname could not have been more appropriate. She cared about everyone, regardless of how they treated her. She earnestly tried to build-up those around her. Even during the great struggles and challenges in her life, she reached out to help others and show them affection. Kerri Dawn was down to earth and socialized with people from all walks of life and ages, easily making friends wherever she went. She was as comfortable at a five star restaurant as she was at a backyard bonfire. She remembered everyone she met and was always interested to hear about them, however fleeting the relationship. Kerri Dawn was an animal lover from an early age, becoming a vegetarian when she was just 13 years old. Her unfulfilled childhood dream was to have 17 dogs and 17 cats. She cared for all animals, but especially for the family dogs, Saffron and Cinnamon, and her dog, Jango, who she referred to as her "baby". Kerri Dawn was artistic. As a child, she enjoyed drawing and singing. As she grew older, she loved music of all kinds, and listening brought her peace. She also enjoyed crafts, cooking and dance parties, especially with her nieces and nephews. Kerri Dawn also had an adventurous side. She loved scary rides and movies, outdoor activities (especially camping, hiking and swimming), and travelled to South Korea. She had a sweet sense of humour and those who knew her well, enjoyed her wit. Since childhood, Kerri Dawn stood out for her beautiful smile and bright eyes. She was a remarkably beautiful young woman, inside and out. She had a flair for fashion, which led her to Esthetics school and to work in the bridal dress industry. Friends and family often turned to her for help with their hair and make-up. Words cannot describe how special Kerri Dawn is and how badly we will miss her. Rest in peace Care Bear. A private family service will be held. Gary and Diana, we just found out about Kerri's passing, being out here in BC. Your family has always been very special to our family and are a large part of many warm memories of our life in Selkirk. When we think of your whole family the first words that come to mind are quietness and gentleness. Kerri and all of your children always showed love and respect especially for older people (like me - Eileen!:)). Looking at Kerri's picture and reading the tributes above, she has obviously lived her whole life in this manner. Many lives have been blessed by her. Sending our love and prayers. I am very sorry for your loss. I have very fond memories of your family while growing up. Especially one scout camp where Gary and his son Dustin were part of our bicycle trip to Birds Hill Park. Diana was at one time my primary teacher at Church, and Kerri was in my younger brother's Sunday primary class. I know that families can be together forever! Please accept my most sincere regrets for your loss. - Posted by: Ben Anderson (Knew family since I was a child) on: Dec 14, 2013
