CORNEL P. POLESHUK (CORNY) June 7, 1940 - December 16, 2013 Peacefully in his sleep with his wife by his side, Cornel passed away. He leaves to mourn his loss Charmaine, his wife of 17 years; sons Kelly and Craig (Rosemary); grandchildren Blake and Brooke; sisters Anne (Mike) and Doreen (Angelo); also many other relatives and friends. Cornel was predeceased by his first wife Marion; his parents Jack Annie (nee Lubomsky) and uncles Victor and Johnny Lubomsky. Born in Princeton, BC Cornel grew up in Kamloops, BC where he worked with the Forestry Department; was a volunteer fire fighter; began his retail career with the Hudson Bay Co., moving to Sears for 27 years until his retirement in 2000. Cornel enjoyed sharing stories of his adventurous youth, fishing trips and travels with his friends. His greatest source of pride was his family. He always enjoyed family gatherings. We will fondly remember Cornel for his quick wit and great sense of humour and magnetic blue eyes. Charmaine and family would like to thank the staff of 3 South at the Grace Hospital and at Tuxedo Villa Extendicare for their support during Cornel's illness. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated. A celebration of Corny's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. A reception for family and friends will follow after the services in the Mosaic Reception Centre. Cremation has taken place. Fate is one of the wonders we cannot control. This is a good thing, for were it not for fate you would not have been part of my life. Forever in my heart.
