Art was a great riding instructor. He was quite demanding but had a wonderful quiet manner. I remember he used paper from his cigarette packs to put between our knees and the saddle and then have us ride without stirrups, making sure not to lose the papers. We learned so much from him and he dealt so well with our group of teenage girls. Please accept my sincere condolences. Art was indeed a great man. - Posted by: Heather MacKenzie (Art was my riding instructor) on: Jul 30, 2014

My condolences to Gladys and family. I remember going to Art & Johanne's with my mom & dad and Johanne always had the best food to snack on. Art was always so good to my brother and me, very funny. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Bonnie McCardle (family friend) on: Jan 01, 2014

For Mike, Margot, Kevin & Rob Sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad. He was a terrific man. My first boat ride was at Winnipeg Beach. The first BBQ I saw was one Uncle Art brought to the farm for "firecracker day". We all had so much fun playing together. Your Mom and Dad were here in St Andrews to visit us in the spring. He never changed. The tall, intelligent, handsome, soft spoken man, will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. Auntie Johanne knew how to pick a good man! Thinking of you as you adjust to this sad loss. Norine Miller (Nelson) - Posted by: Norine Miller (niece) on: Dec 21, 2013
