JARICE HENDRICKS (nee HORBAL) October 2, 1937 - December 27, 2013 Peacefully, on December 27, 2013 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, Jarice, beloved wife of Tony passed away after losing her battle to cancer. Jarice was predeceased by her parents, Telka and John; brothers, Steve and Mike; sister, Mary; brothers-in-law, Steve and Bill Demedash, George Zawortny, and sisterin-law, Mary Horbal. Jarice leaves to mourn Tony, her husband and best friend of more than 57 years. Also left to cherish her memory are her children: Bev Kliewer (Bruce), Barry (Catherine) and Bruce. She will also be missed by her dear sisters, Stella Demedash and Kay Zawortny; her much loved grandchildren, Jillian (Kenny), Joshua, Mathew; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Caleb and Kylie, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Our mom was loved by anyone who met her because of her caring and generous spirit. This was made evident by the numerous visitors and by the abundance of flowers, cards and gifts that surrounded her in her hospital room. Jarice was a devoted member of the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish for over 50 years. She was a very active member of the parish, specifically with the U.C.W.L and the Perogy Making Gang. Mom took great pride in ensuring that the Holy Water containers were always filled. Her presence will be missed greatly by her church family. This remarkable woman never realized how truly special she was or even what a talented cook she was. But we, her family, always appreciated her and her delicious meals which we will miss. Mom has left a huge hole in all of our hearts that can never be filled. We will miss her every single day. Our family would like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for the outstanding care and comfort shown to our mom. Special thanks to Dr. Finlayson for his compassion and caring manner and to nurse Bernie for her tender care, her amazing singing and her supportive presence during mom's final moments. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 505 Watt Street with Father Dr. Michael Kwiatkowski officiating. Interment will be at Fraserwood Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation. Mom we saw you suffer with grace and courage......our wish for you now is that you are pain free and with the angels in God's arms. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL (204) 956-2193
