DENNIS R. DICK October 20, 1942 - December 31, 2013 Peacefully, on December 31, 2013, at the St. Boniface Palliative Care, Dennis passed away after a short but courageous struggle with Vasculitis (GPA). Dennis was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Betty Dick, and his brother Terry. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Margaret, son Tyler (Amy), and precious grandson Jonas of Savoy, Illinois and his sister Judith of Calgary. Dennis developed a passion for sports as he grew up on various Air Force bases throughout Canada. He excelled at hockey, basketball, baseball, golf and bowling. He joined his first five pin bowling league at the age of ten and bowled in many leagues for the next 61 years. Dennis was employed by Canada Post for 37 years and upon retiring, he renewed his interest in baseball. He joined the Morse Place Community Club senior slo-pitch group and eventually became a member of the Stealers team. He enjoyed the comradery of his team mates and the many trips to tournaments. Dennis lived life to the fullest and never to anyone for granted. His one wish would have been to remain with his loving family long enough to continue baseball training with Jonas. KU - U - I - PO Denny. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place later in the year. Special thanks for the wonderful care given by the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital. Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I had the pleasure of bowling for many years on Wednesday nights on the Letter Carriers Bowling League. It was always fun bowling against him. We are also blood donators. He joined me on my 75th donation at a donation party that I hosted. In Feb. of this year I am having a 100th donation party and I am donating in his memory. - Posted by: Bob Davedow (Bowling Buddy) on: Jan 09, 2014

  • I met Dennis through my high school buddy Terry, Dennis' brother. Dennis was older and we thought he was so cool when he bought a Honda 50 scooter. Dennis always had a smile on his face and I feel privileged to have known him. Deepest Sympathy on your loss Jack Stobart - Posted by: Jack Stobart (Friend) on: Jan 04, 2014

  • Margaret, so sorry to hear of Dennis' passing. Our deepest sympathy to you and all your family. Will miss him dearly!!!!! Sincerely, Frank and Rosemary and Family. - Posted by: Rosemary and Frank Murphy (Neighbors) on: Jan 04, 2014

  • I met Dennis through his brother Terry back high school in 1964. We played baseball and Terry brought Dennis along and he became part of our group from Gordon Bell. Dennis was older and had the money so he suggested we rent a cottage for a week at Grand Beach. That started an amazing chain of events. That was where I met my future wife Shirley. As we got to know her and her friends 4 of us from GB married 4 St.James girls and are all still married. I'm sorry to say we lost touch over the years but Mrs. Dyck would keep me informed when she would get on my bus. Our deepest sympathy on your loss Shirley and Duncan Manson - Posted by: Dunc Manson (Friend from the distant past) on: Jan 04, 2014
