LYNDA CHEREWYK (nee DAILY) 1954 ! 2013 After a brief battle with cancer, Lynda passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, on December 31. She was predeceased by her parents Constance and Robert Daily. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Sidney, daughter Kristin, brother Terry Daily (Judy) and nephew Taylor. Lynda was born in Winnipeg. She graduated from Daniel Mclntyre Collegiate. She worked for the city of Winnipeg from 1974 and retired from human resources, public works as a principle clerk in 2010. Lynda took a liking to sports at an early age while attending Jr. Jets and Bomber games with her father. But her favorite was curling. She partook in many bonspiels and up until her recent illness curled twice a week at the Granite. She was particularly excited to play in the senior women's playdowns last winter. Lynda took great pride in following her daughter's accomplishments, whether it was soccer, curling or school. She also acquired her taste for country music, attending concerts in Winnipeg, Fargo or Minneapolis. This also allowed her to visit with her brother in Minnesota. Her other joy was travelling, visiting places like Hawaii, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and the Rockies. When her parents vacationed in Florida she made sure to pay them many visits. Later she treasured many trips to Mexico with her family. She was quite the sun worshipper, spending countless hours by the pool at their Gimli getaway. She also got into some passionate reading. She was quite the social person whether it was joking with the happy hour gang in Gimli, her curling buddies or her es-workmates. Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. She will be missed. A sincere thank-you to the staff at 7A South, St. Boniface Hospital. Condolences & Memories (14 entries)

  • Kristen and Sid, Jerry and I just heard about Linda's passing - we are so saddened at this horrific loss of Linda - a beautiful, caring, compassionate and fun person. Linda always had a smile and when she talked about you Kristen her eyes just sparkled with love and pride. She was always so very proud of you. Sid the same about you. Linda and I had many talks about family and you and Kristen where so very important to her. We are going to miss our friend and Gimli will definitely be different without seeing her and receiving hugs for each other. We will come by when we next come out. As you know we hadn't been out since last October and last week-end was our first time back. Love and hugs and prayers for you both.
