SOPHIE KLOS It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sophie Klos at the age of 94 at the Maples Personal Care Home. Predeceased by her husband Harry; son John; three brothers and one sister, Sophie leaves to mourn her daughter, June (Nick) Katchurowsky; daughter-in-law Janice; grandchildren, Laurie and Kathy (Brian), Garret (Melanie), Brendon, Leighton and Jillian; and great-grandson, Tyler. She has also left behind many nieces and nephews, along with one sister, Stefania and her family in Poland. Sophie was born in Sudova, Vysznia and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1947 from Ukraine, settling in Winnipeg. Babcia enjoyed her cooking, sewing, Sunday Liturgy, gardening and Seniors' clubs, not to mention her love of wrestling and Lawrence Welk. Her home was always filled with the aromas of baking, which she was most proud of. Her recipes, which she knew by heart, and her knowledge of "the way the dough felt" will always be remembered. Sophie loved her pets over the years, even spoiling other people's pets and not returning them on occasion. May her stories of immigration, cooking, baking and always cleaning, remain in our hearts forever. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 10 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. with Fr. I. Dziadyk, OSBM officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sophie's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family would like to thank Fr. I. Dziadyk, OSBM for his frequent visits, as well as the staff at the Maples and SOGH for their care during her stay. You will always be in our hearts. VICHNAYA PAMYAT KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193
