Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA CONCETTA MASI (nee SCERBO) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Maria, with her family by her side at Riverview Health Centre, on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the age of 97. Mom will be lovingly remembered and is survived by her daughters Virginia (Agostino) Pallone, Loretta (Guiliano) Scarpino, Marina (Gabriele) Di Nella, son-in-law Raffale Aiello, grandchildren Greg (Janice) Pallone, Silvana Pallone, Carmine (Anita) Scarpino, Tony (Rosa) Scarpino, Julie Scarpino (Tom), Joe Aiello, Tony (Leah) Aiello, Fabrizio (Fil) Di Nella, Adriano (Brook) Di Nella, Dario (Josette) Di Nella, sister-in-law Natalina Scerbo, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio, daughter Fiorina Aiello, sisters Carmela and Carolina, brothers Francesco, Arcangelo and Pietro. Maria was born in Amato, Italy, November 3, 1916. She immigrated to Canada in 1955 to join her husband, daughter and son-in-law. She faced life's challenges with patience and strength. As a true matriarch, her family and home were her main priorities. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Avenue with Father Sam Argenziano as the Celebrant. Friends are invited to extend condolences to the family from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., eulogy will begin at 10:45 a.m. Entombment will take place in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, at Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street. Pallbearers will be Greg Pallone, Carmine Scarpino, Tony Scarpino, Joe Aiello, Tony Aiello, Fabrizio Di Nella, Adriano Di Nella, and Dario Di Nella. The family wishes to thank the home care workers, as well as Riverview Palliative unit nursing staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's name to Holy Rosary Church: 510 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0E1, Canadian Diabetes: Suite 20 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or CancerCare Manitoba: 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
