THELMA MAE JAMIESON (nee WHEELER) It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Thelma Jamieson of Morden, MB, at the age of 56 years, at the Boundary Trails Health Centre on January 8, 2014. Thelma will forever be remembered by her husband Dale, daughters Alyson and Madison, father Jack Wheeler, brother Robert (Lynda) and their children Carolynne and Heather, father and mother-in-law Jack and Nonie Jamieson, brother-in-law Bryan (Pat) and their children Leanne, Michael and Scott, as well as numerous extended relatives and friends. Thelma was predeceased by her mother Jean Wheeler in 2010. Thelma was a wife, mother, aunt, teacher, friend, writer, crafter, golfer, mentor and now, an angel. She had this incredible energy about her, along with a smile that could light up any room and a twinkle in her eye. Her friends described her as an angel on earth. She was so generous and there was nothing she wouldn't do for you. She always put others before herself. Her friendship was the purest of God's gifts. She had so many different groups of friends and each one she loved so dearly. Teaching was truly Thelma's calling. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher and was so excited to attend university and achieve this goal. She was a "store house" of information and remembered things from her teaching career that spanned more than 30 years. No matter what the task, she was quick with a response and always had an insightful, helpful answer and always found creative new ways to teach her students. Her compassionate nature was perfectly suited for teaching; she cared so much for her students and her colleagues. Family was important to Thelma and she showered them with unconditional love and support. Thelma and Dale were married in 1981 on the farm she grew up on. The love they had for each other was strong and never wavered as they supported each other in everything they did. Thelma's pride and joy were her daughters, Aly, born in Virden in 1989, and Maddy, born in Morden in 1995, where they have lived happily for the past 22 years. Before every meal, Thelma's father Jack would start with a blessing, "Let us ever be mindful of the needs of others". These were the words that Thelma took to heart, believed in, and practiced. Thelma's gentle nature and kind heart touched many lives and will never be forgotten. Funeral service was held Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the St. Paul's United Church, Morden, MB with Rev. Grahme Spear and Rev. Cathie Waldie officiating. Following the service, interment took place at Woodlands Cemetery in Treherne, MB. We would like to thank the doctors and staff at Boundary Trails Health Centre for their kind and compassionate care, to Rev. Spear and Rev. Waldie for your spiritual support and especially all of our family and friends who have helped us through this difficult time. Your kindness and guidance has been greatly appreciated.
