MICHAEL BORYS It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family of Michael Borys announce his passing on January 12, 2014. Mike was born November 30, 1930, the second of five children to Rose and Michael Borys. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years Gladys, son Greg, daughter-in-law Sheilah and grandchildren Kelsey and Taryn. Also left to grieve are brothers Don and John, sister Marion and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his parents and sister Rosaline. As a young man Mike explored many career paths, eventually establishing himself at Canada Post in 1963, where he continued his service for 28 years until his retirement in 1990. When not at the Post Office Mike enjoyed spending time in his shop. Building various wood working projects for his numerous family and friends was a passion of Mike's, even earning him the nickname 'Mr. Chips'. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. Please join us in a celebration of Mike's life at a memorial service to be held at Sherwood Park Lutheran Church 7 Tudor Crescent on Tuesday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or to the Sherwood Park Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 7 Tudor Cres.
