Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • I just heard of Wanda's passing and feel greatly saddened by this news. We were in the same year at St. Mary's Academy. We have not been in touch since St Mary's days, but I have happy memories of those times. I am glad to see what a lovely family she has had around her all these many years. May God Bless and Keep her and Console all those who surely miss her. - Posted by: Cynthia Balaberda (School friend) on: Sep 22, 2014

  • I rode the bus with Wanda when she attended St. Mary's Academy. She always had a sweet, kind and warm smile and disposition. We were the only girls from West Kildonan at that time attending St. Mary's Academy. She lived on Scotia Street and I lived on Burrin Avenue. I am a year or so older than Wanda. I read about her passing in my St. Mary's Academy Torch Light Fall 2014. So sorry, such a great loss.F - Posted by: Catherine Jurkowski (McKee) (High school bus friend) on: Aug 30, 2014

  • Sweet Wanda... I somehow came across this, and did not know that Wanda had left us. Years of separation, but many happy memories come flooding back. Wanda was my very best friend through elementary school, a happy, sweet and generous soul who brightened my early years... playing air band in her garage when air band didn't exist...singing "sugar sugar, honey honey" and "crimson and clover, over and over.." We drifted apart, but Wanda has always been in my heart... love and condolences to the entire family, keep well. - Posted by: Cathy Bambrick (Friend) on: Jun 30, 2014

  • Wanda's sisters were so good to her to be with her at the end. They gave a nice farewell at the funeral as well. Every family wishes they had such tight bonds. Alina has sadly now lost two daughters! Her faith and her remaining daughters will hopefully help to give her strength. My son played with Anastasia when they were children. - Posted by: Jeany Jerome (Friend & neighbour) on: Feb 04, 2014

  • Dear Chmielowicz family, so sorry to hear of your loss. Although this dates back to the Big Whiteshell Lake years, I will always remember Wanda as a sweet gal with a great smile. She was truly loved by all that knew her ... How sad that she has left this world at such a young age! My sincere condolences to you all, Bill Teerhuis - Posted by: Bill Teerhuis (Friend of the family) on: Jan 29, 2014
