ANNE HNATIUK With sadness the family announces Anne's passing on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at the age of 90. She was the eldest of a large family born to Harry Hnatiuk and Polly Marykuca who were pioneer homesteaders near Fisher Branch in Manitoba's Interlake region. "Annie" was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, managing in her own way to cope with a life-long neurological disorder. She was predeceased by four siblings: Mary Genyk, Steve, John, and Peter (Mildred). Left to mourn her passing are Pearl Persowich, Olga Malkowich, Kay (Bud Husack), Nellie (Bob Smith), and Joseph (Marilyn), as well as many nephews and nieces. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the dedicated professionals at Lions Manor Supportive Housing where Anne spent many happy years as part of a very special community, and most recently to the care provided by the 3rd Floor staff at Deer Lodge before her brief "coming home" stay at Lions Personal Care Centre. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no public service. A private family springtime internment and celebration of life is planned.
