Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIETTE LEONIE LEYS (DE WITTE) October 5, 1922 - January 27, 2014 It is with great sorrow that our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away January 27, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents Emerence and Achille, her brothers Andre and Ivan, and her loving husband Albert. She is survived by her three children Rita Ward (Grant), Eric Leys (Shelley) and Susan Sywak (Bohdan); grandchildren Jared, Sean, Trent, Jessica, Daria and Ashley; great-grandchildren Lily Mariette, Destin Albert and Tayler; sister Henriette Kleemola and extended family; nieces and nephews of the De Witte family (Belgium) and many relatives of the Leys family. She will always be remembered for her loving ways, contagious smile and humour even in times of adversity. Family was always her #1 priority and nothing made her smile more than a visit from her grandchildren. Mom enjoyed the most simple things in life like playing cards and BINGO. Celebration of Life will be held at E. J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald St., Winnipeg on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. (Father Stan Gacek officiating) with a reception to follow. Private family interment at Belgian Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of her homecare workers and the staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their TLC and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kidney Foundation of Canada or Canadian Mental Health Association. If love could have saved our dearest Mom, she would have lived forever... Dear Rita, Eric and Susan (and families) We are so sorry for your loss. We truly loved your mother and always enjoyed her sense of fun and enjoyment of life. She was a very special lady and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. We really enjoyed seeing her on her 90th birthday and will always have those memories. We are sorry that we will not be able to attend her service and express our deepest sympathy to your families.
