STELLA KLYM On February 1, 2014 after a long battle with Alzheimer's, mom passed away. Stella was born in August of 1931 to John and Anna Wishnowski, the youngest of 14 children. She married the love of her life George, in August of 1951. They were married for 40 years until his passing in 1991. Together they worked the farm in Gimli, raising their three sons. They loved children and could often have more heads than beds at the end of the day, but there was always a place for one more. One more plate at the table never fazed her. Stella took pride in her large vegetable garden and beautiful flowers, especially a rose bush she had brought from her home in Malonton when she moved to the farm in Gimli. She enjoyed going for mushrooms and picking wild strawberries along with seasonal berries. Come June she could be found in a ditch along a country road, picking berries that she would carefully preserve for later. If any of her dear ones was ill, mom had the cure; a jar of wild strawberries. Many of life's problems were discussed and plenty of advice given over a cup of tea and honey around the kitchen table. Stella was baptised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1958. She took her dedication very seriously and shared her faith with all who would listen. She found the passage at Revelation 21:3, 4 especially comforting. She looked forward to a time of no more sickness and death. She showed her love for Jehovah by sharing this hope with others and did so until she was no longer able. She moved to Betel Home in 2009. She leaves to mourn her sisters Tanya and Nettie (Bob) Fright, along with her sons George, Steven (Donna), Peter (Paulette); grandchildren Rachel (Nathan) Spring, Taze and Colby along with great-grandchildren Reign, Leah, and Darla Spring; numerous nieces and nephews, particularly great-niece Ambyr. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 6, at 1:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall, 85 PTH 9, Winnipeg Beach, with Tom Didur officiating. Interment of ashes to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery, west of Gimli. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

It's been many many years since I moved from the area where Aunt Stella lived but I have many fond memories of times shared with her when I was a little girl. I remember after she and George were married I sat behind the farm house and cried because she was leaving Grandma and Grandpa's and I was missing her even though she had just left. I saw her seldom over the years but thought of her often. I understand her latter years were hard and difficult and I hope you will be able to recall the good times you shared together and in remembering you will be thankful for the gift of her life and the love she had for you. My dear mother Tania, who is the last of the two remaining sisters would if able want to express her love and sincere sympathy to all of you, and so on behalf of her and myself we pray you will be comforted by God's love and know His special grace and strength for each new day you live.
